***Don't forget to insert your id # or contact info in any
broadcast so that when it is re-broadcasted by our friends, new recruits will be able to find us.***
As a RECRUITING OFFICER (R.O.), you will be a very important part
of our growth as a family. This position may actually be the most
important one of all.
You will use the Recruiting Office to talk to any and all new
recruits. It can be found at:
There are many requirements for a new recruit that must be met
before they can be approved for Head Quarters access. Additionally,
all new recruits will be screened. This process can take UP to ONE
WEEK.
Make sure you only ask the questions you need to ask. There are
many questions listed on the form that are for YOU to answer from
YOUR observations. Please try to make it a smooth conversation, not
an interrogation.
Once you have completed this step and are fairly comfortable with
this person, make sure they have completed the registration process
at the family website. ANY moderator can approve them.
***We don’t EVER want to see a recruit sitting around in the
recruiting room when they should have been given the HQ access. And
we don’t EVER want to see a recruit asking how to add the family.
Take care of the basics ASAP.***
Below is a FULL guide for you to understand what you are looking
for:
What you, as a RECRUITING OFFICER, need to look for:
1. Is the New Recruit 18?
2. Do they follow basic direction well? Are they computer
literate?
3. Is there MOBSTER page free of heavy conflict?
4. Do they use profane language?
5. Have they engaged in hostilities towards any of our allies?
6. Do they appear to be truthful?
7. Do they appear to be an active player?
8. Do they appear to have a sense of honor/respect?
9. Do they need help building their character? Will they be a
“juicy target” for other mobsters due to “weakness”?
10. Are they REALLY interested in joining a CLOSE KNIT family? Or
are they just looking for protection from the MOBSTER “Boogy
men”
11. What other families have they belonged to?
12. What other families have attempted to recruit this person
before?
13. Is it possible that they are a SPY?
What you need to ask the new recruit for:
1. What is your ID number?
2. What is your URL? (not as important)
3. What is your email?
4. What is your Yahoo IM?
5. Do you have other accounts on the game?
6. What is the other account info?
7. What other families have you been with?
8. Are you currently in another family?
9. Are you over 18?
10. Do you have privacy protection turned off?
What you need to TELL the new recruit about our family:
1. We are a close-knit group
2. We require activity; non-active members will be removed.
3. We require you to be respectful.
4. No abusive language or inappropriate comments.
5. No racism.
6. No deceitfulness (lying).
7. No DRAMATICS!!! (Prima donnas need not apply).
8. We are a part of a very large organization. Our rules must be
followed at all times.
9. We will help you be a better mobster. We offer training,
mentoring and a home within the game.
10. If you join, you will be family. You will be treated like
family, so make sure you treat the others the same way.
11. You will be expected to follow the orders passed down to you
directly and indirectly (through manuals, messages and
meetings).
Once the basics have been covered with the recruit, it is vital
that we look into the New Recruit’s trail. We will check all
comments on their page and look for side trails to follow. We need
to gauge this New Recruit’s conduct for ourselves. We cannot take
things at face value. If you find something suspicious, contact
another R.O. or another OFFICER that can assist you in making sure
the New Recruit is not lying or attempting to gain access to our HQ
as a spy.
Also, look at their MySpace page. Check for comments or anything
that needs attention. Look at their friends. See if there is a
pattern that might tell us they are not being truthful.
This all may sound paranoid, but we must guard ourselves against
intrusion. Also, a New Recruit WILL NOT be TOLD we are looking into
them and their conduct. It is too easy to lay low for a few
days.
